Low tides offer great chances to explore tidepools and search for shells. Tide predictions can vary across sources, so rely on local charts when possible. During your stay at our Oregon Coast Bed and Breakfast, you can drive or walk to Arch Cape Beach, which offers quieter access to the shoreline.
Aim for the four-hour window around low tide for tidepooling, clamming, and beachcombing. That covers two hours before low tide and two hours after. Stay alert to your surroundings. Sneaker waves, logs, and fast-changing water levels are part of our coastal environment. It’s easy to get blocked by bluffs at low tide, so keep an eye on the ocean.
Look into the Haystack Rock Awareness Program. Naturalists offer free low-tide tours and share helpful insights about local marine life. This is a lovely way to get involved and learn more about the coast and the wildlife we share the beach with.

Exceeded my expectations
We recently stayed at the Arch Cape Inn and had an outstanding stay. My husband and I went for a peaceful getaway. The room was lovely and had delightful toiletries. They use Beekman goat milk products which we love. The bed was comfy, soft sheets and pillows that were fabulous, (and we are really picky). They have lovely touches that enhance the stay. On arrival a glass of wine and charcuterie board. The breakfast was delicious. Best of all was the service. Molly and Kayla made us feel so at home and took care of any requests we had. We cannot express what a wonderful time we had and highly recommend a stay at this property!
